ABOUT ME
Business and coaching experience
I have a successful track record as a businessman, having worked in a senior role at Formica before establishing, growing, and selling the strategy consultancy, Wood Holmes. My journey in the business world has been shaped by a series of impactful contributions and leadership roles.
I have supported SME innovation through various positions. I served as the first Chair of the Innovation Supernetwork, supported by the North East LEP, where I championed innovative practices and fostered a community of entrepreneurs. Additionally, I was Chair of the fast-growing cycling holiday business, Saddle Skedaddle, guiding its expansion and success. Currently, I chair the board of the innovation agency, Edge, where I continue to support dynamic business growth.
During my tenure at North East Finance, I launched the Routes to Investment initiative, a range of SME support activities and services designed to facilitate investment and growth. My expertise spans diverse markets, including business-to-business, education, public sector, construction, and engineering, allowing me to provide tailored guidance.
With over 20 years of experience, I have been coaching, mentoring, and delivering workshops to business owners, managers, and entrepreneurs. My work has spanned various businesses and academic institutions across the North East, including Newcastle University and Sunderland College. Through these efforts, I have helped many individuals achieve their business goals, enabling a culture of innovation and resilience.
Additionally, I hold a coaching qualification endorsed by the Association for Coaching, further validating my commitment to providing high-quality coaching that meets professional standards. This qualification underscores my dedication to delivering significant value to those I work with.

What payment methods do you accept?I use GoCardless to send a payment link following our sessions. Alternatively, you can set up a direct debit for block bookings.

What is your cancellation policy?Cancellations made within 48 hours of the booked session will incur a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the session will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

How often do you meet with clients?I usually suggest meeting biweekly at the beginning of our work together then monthly. During our work together, I'll check in with you to discuss our progress so far and decide whether we should reduce the frequency of our sessions. Previous clients are always welcome for intermittent sessions should they need/want them.

Do you have a waiting list?I do have a waiting list if I have no current availability and will do my best to give you an idea of when I will next have availability. I am always happy to provide a referral to a trusted colleague if you would like to see someone sooner.

Do you offer virtual sessions?Yes, I'm more than happy to offer virtual sessions should you prefer.

How much are business coaching sessions and how long do they last?Business coaching sessions are £100 / hour

What are your hours?I offer sessions from 9am until 5pm Monday to Friday.

What are your hours?I offer sessions from: 9am until 6pm Monday to Thursday 9am until 4pm Friday 9am until 11am Saturday

Do you offer virtual therapy sessions?Yes, I'm more than happy to offer online counselling sessions should you prefer.

How often do you meet with clients?I love seeing the progress my clients make and want to make sure that you see change and value during our sessions. For that reason, I usually suggest meeting weekly at the beginning of our work together, then when you're ready, we can discuss transitioning to biweekly, then eventually monthly. During our work together, I'll intermittently check in with you to discuss our progress so far and decide whether we should reduce the frequency of our sessions. Previous clients are always welcome for top up sessions should they need/want them!

How much are therapy sessions and how long do they last?Individual counselling sessions are £60 // 50 minutes. Couples therapy sessions are £75 // 50 minutes. Initial sessions are £60 // 90 minutes.

What is your cancellation policy?Cancellations made within 48 hours of the booked session will incur a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the session will incur a 100% cancellation fee. Exceptions may be made for emergencies at my discretion.

I will always do my best to give you an idea of when I will next have availability and will keep you updated while you are waiting. I am always happy to provide a referral to a trusted colleague if you would like to see someone sooner.

Do you offer telephone therapy appointments?I currently don't offer therapy appointments over the phone, apart from the free introductory call. I think it's important to be able to see each other during our sessions to build a strong therapeutic relationship.
